FR-234 Signatures of Elliott & Burke. This cut sheet quartet is from the third sheet of the E-A block. The E9A note grades Choice New 63 with BEP corrected misapplication of serial number prefix as stated on the the third party holder. It is obvious that both serial numbers for the E9A note have been erased and the serials were then correctly reapplied. PCGS has called this example an error note. This is the first BEP erasure we have taken notice of on a large size type note. However, BEP erasures and the reapplying of serial numbers is discussed in Paper Money, the Society of Paper Money Collectors, Vol. LI, No. 2, Whole No. 278, March/April 2012, pages 97-108, "Series of 1929 National Bank Replacement Notes." Serial number E10A grades Very Choice New 64, E11A grades Gem New 65PPQ, and E12A grades Very Choice New 64PPQ. (Total: 4 notes)
